Albert Buildings

49 Queen Victoria Street, EC4N 4SA
Albert Buildings
One of the few

The offices of the Albert Buildings were built in 1869. They are notable because they are one of the few remaining original buildings to line Queen Victoria Street. Queen Victoria Street itself was another of the Victorian's London ‘improvements’: schemes designed to improve the appearance of the city which also had the desirable effect (in the Victorians' eyes, at least) of clearing out slums and dilapidated housing.
